Non-partisan local elections became popular in the early 1900s to keep political ideologies out of municipal elections. “There’s no partisan way to pick up garbage,” was a common phrase.

Today, most city, county, school board, and judge positions are filled through non-partisan elections. Advocates of non-partisan elections claim non-partisan political thought is best for resolving community concerns. However, once elected, do local elected officials govern as non-partisan? Or do they govern promoting certain ideologies?

When it comes to municipal elections, Democrats deceitfully claim a candidate’s political affiliation is not important to provide constituents with good policies and services. However, after being elected, they quickly become political activists for the Democrat agenda. It’s common for them to begin advancing leftist rules, policies, and regulations.

Eventually, Democrats continue to gain influence and power by organizing segments of the population, gaining control of local governments, school boards, city councils, then state legislatures, then Congress, all by controlling – but effectively organizing – a minority of the vote. Once in office, they use it to elect other Democrats of like mind.

For example, Democrat school board members quickly begin changing the names of schools, defending the sexualizing of children, and promoting a leftist curriculum.

Another example is Democrat city and county officials begin appointing other leftists to important boards and commissions, removing statues, renaming streets and buildings – all in favor of their leftist movement.

Yet another example, Democrat judges promote their leftist ideology by ruling in favor and protecting leftist defendants, while ruling against conservative defendants – regardless of evidence or innocence.

In addition, Democrats have a program to help elect Democrats to local offices. It’s called Project LIFT. According to their website, “Project LIFT is a longtime program of the Texas Democratic Party that invests in candidates running in local, down-ballot races across the state.”

Under this program, Democrat LIFT-recognized candidates receive public recognition by The Democrat Party, campaign-specific help with strategy, GOTV and volunteer recruitment emails from The Democrat Party list, voter-targeting guidance, a list of donors in the area, and access to campaign-support staff.

So, in today’s volatile political world, is there such a thing as non-partisan local elections?
