Charlie Kirk founded Turning Point USA at the young age of 18. It grew into one of the largest conservative youth organizations in the United States, with a presence in thousands of high school and college campuses. As a result, he helped mobilize young voters toward conservative politics. Without a doubt, his efforts with the youth vote were crucial in the reelection of President Donald Trump.
At a time when cultural hegemony intends to normalize indecent and anti-American rhetoric and behavior, Charlie Kirk spoke for and defended objective truth. He understood the danger in young American students being indoctrinated to hate Christianity, hate America, and hate our Constitutional Republic. To counter this indoctrination, he traveled the country, visited school campuses, and encouraged amicable conversation and debate supported by facts, history, and statistics.
His debates and conversations with students were not based on emotional arguments. Rather, they were meant to be an exposure and exchange of facts and statistics. He encouraged questioning and being critical of elected officials and government policies that affected all Americans.
Recently, he was questioning specific issues that made certain insiders uncomfortable. For this, he unintentionally created numerous enemies; for truth is a threat to those who live a life of illusion. And in our current cultural climate, affirmation of illusion is a dominant force among a small but aggressive group of people.
George Orwell said it best, “In a time of deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.”

Charlie also faced considerable pressure for his Christian perspective on politics – even from some people close to him. Yet, as an example to all who follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, he stood firm on his Christian principles.
Unfortunately, now, we may never know the complete truth of all those who may have been involved in this despicable act.
His legacy? Advocating that America was exceptional because it was founded on Christian moral principles, and straying away from these would only lead to the demise of America – culturally and socially. As John Adams said, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”
Charlie was once asked, “How would you like to be remembered?” Charlie replied, “I want to be remembered for courage for my faith.” And indeed, courage for his faith was evident until his last breath.
2 Timothy 3:12: The Apostle Paul writes, “Indeed, all who want to live godly lives in Christ Jesus will be persecuted”.
May you rest in peace, Charlie. And may your legacy of promoting Christ, American exceptionalism, objective truth, free speech, and amicable debate live on in the future generations of America.
