If you’ve read the book, ‘The Democrat Modus Operandi,’ you already understand a critical rule: never respond directly to a false accusation. Responding directly legitimizes the accusation. That is precisely the trap and intent of a passive-aggressive question – an accusation disguised as a question.

Instead, the correct strategy is to expose and educate.

To expose means to identify the false accusation for what it is. To educate means to explain how it’s an accusation disguised as a question, why the accusation is being made, and its true objective. The book provides multiple examples of how this works in practice.

Unfortunately, many Republican leaders continue to fall into this trap. Especially when dealing with left-leaning media.

Consider the following real example:

During President Trump’s first presidency, in a Texas border town, a group of Republicans attended a naturalization ceremony welcoming the new American citizens, most of whom were Hispanic.

Predictably, leftist media outlets showed up. It is important to understand that leftist media do not typically attend these events to report objectively; they show up with a political agenda.

One reporter approached a Republican and asked:

“How can you be talking to these new Hispanic American citizens about the Republican Party when you have a racist in the White House?”

This was not a legitimate question. It was a passive-aggressive question – an accusation disguised as a question. And it should never have been answered directly.

The Republican visibly cringed and replied:

“Well, we want people to know we’re not all like the President and that we’re still here for them.”

This was the wrong response.

By answering this way, the Republican accepted the false premise that the President—and by extension Republicans—are racist. The reporter achieved his goal. The narrative was set, and the interview was a success for the leftist media.

The opportunity to expose and educate was completely missed.

A proper Expose-and-Educate response would have sounded more like this:

First of all, Mr. Reporter, I can see by the nature of your question – which in reality is not a question, but an accusation – that you’re not actually a reporter. You’re a Democrat activist posing as a reporter to push your Democrat agenda. That’s OK. I’ll respond to your accusation.

None of President  Trump’s policies are racist. But Democrats are unable to defend their failed policies using facts, results, or measurable outcomes. So instead, they shamefully call Republicans ‘racist’ to distract from their failures.

In reality, Democratic policies are oppressive to Hispanics. So, that’s exactly why we’re here.

These people are fleeing corrupt big-government countries that made them dependent on the government to control them. And that’s exactly what Democratic policies do here in America – they make citizens dependent on the government to control them. Because what the government can give you, the government can also take away.

So, if these new citizens vote for Democratic policies, they’re voting for the same big government control from which they’re fleeing. We figure that’s the last thing they would want, and that’s why we’re here – to welcome them and show them how the Republican Party platform is the one that defends the freedom and opportunity that will make their American Dream possible.
